Colegio de Traductores Públicos de la Ciudad de Buenos Aires
In a borderless world, where thousands of translators and potential clients meet virtually to do business, those who know only a little about many things can no longer compete with those who know a great deal about only a few subjects. To be competitive, translators must specialize and offer top-quality, extremely accurate
services. IT tools are essential, but no more essential than a foundation of solid professional training and a specific area of knowledge on which translators can focus. Limiting one´s working fields through specialization is a way to optimize quality, and thus generate new business opportunities.
The aim of the 1st Conference on Specialized Translation is to enhance the translator´s proffesional training and promote the acquisition and development of specializations. We hope to receive input from colleagues worldwide in order to share relevant knowledge about the specialty areas chosen for this event.
