Online Postgraduate Certificate in Translation Studies

CTIS, University of Manchester

The Centre for Translation and Intercultural Studies is offering a programme designed for people who would like to obtain a postgraduate qualification in translation studies from the University of Manchester but who are unable to attend a part-time or full-time programme in Manchester.

The Postgraduate Certificate in Translation Studies is delivered entirely via the web and is a part-time course (requiring approximately 4-6 hours of study per week). The next session runs from February 2007 to October 2007 and consists of the following: 1. Introduction to Translation Studies (13 weeks) 2. Translation Practice: Challenges and Strategies (all languages) (13 weeks) A further option in Commercial Translation is also available for those students who work with Spanish and English. The programme can be taken by students with English and any other language, translating in either direction, but degree-level competence is required in BOTH languages. Applications for the February 07 course should be submitted by mid-January and can be completed online at: http://www.manchester.ac.uk/postgraduate/howtoapply/ For more information, including entry requirements and fees, please consult the following webpage: click here (Alternatively, go to http://www.llc.manchester.ac.uk and follow the links to Translation and Intercultural Studies.)
