CALL FOR ABSTRACTS
This one-day symposium is open to all BAAL members and non BAAL members. It is a meeting to present and discuss research based on studying originals and one or more translations. Languages may be any combination of two or more languages, including sign languages. Any type of corpus systematic processing and analysis is permissible, including the use of Multiconc or Paraconc software, typed transcripts and audiovisual files.
We are interested in any type of research in this area, but for the purpose of this one-day symposium ask that all presenters briefly explain their analytical methods as well as presenting their findings.
Abstracts of no more than 300 words should briefly describe the corpus and the analytical methods as well as the research conducted.
Please send abstracts as electronic files, with name and affiliation in the email to
v.jung@hw.ac.uk by January 15th 2008.
The abstracts will be reviewed by Dr Verena Jung from Heriot-Watt University and Philip King of the University of Birmingham.
Presenters will be informed if their paper has been selected by February 15th.
The conference fee is £30 for BAAL members, £35 for non-BAAL members.
Early bird registration deadline is March 1st.
Registration ends March 31st.
