About the author(s)
I graduated as Interpreter from SSLMIT (Advanced School for Interpreters and Translators), University of Bologna. I am writing up my PhD dissertation on attitudes towards the Irish language in Gaeltacht areas with Newcastle upon Tyne University, UK. Since 2001 I have been working as a research assistant at the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies on Translation, Languages and Cultures, University of Bologna. My research focuses on the application of web technologies to questionnaire surveys on multimedia and humour perception and translation (dubbed and subtitled products), as well as the teaching of language mediation to first year university students. I have been working as interpreter, translator and subtitler for the past 10 years.
